Abuse law has been the firm's main focus for over 25 years. We have secured compensation totalling millions of pounds for victims of abuse nationwide.
Over the years our work has focused on abuse suffered at a range of institutions, including children’s homes, schools and religious organisations. We have successfully investigated and claimed compensation for 100s of survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
There are common questions that our clients ask us when they are considering making a claim. We hope this information is useful. If you have any specific questions then please feel free to get in touch and one of our experts will be happy to guide you.
Established in 1984, Andrew Grove & Co. started as a small practice dealing with a wide range of cases, from conveyancing and family law, to general litigation. However, since 1996, when a client came forward to talk of their treatment at a local children’s home, we have become specialists in historical abuse litigation. With both Kathy and Andrew coming from social work backgrounds, a focus in this area of litigation was the logical step for the company. Since then we have recovered millions of pounds in damages for clients across the globe.
We have a breadth of experience in a wide range of abuse cases and have taken action against: local authorities; children’s homes; foster parent/carers; religious organisations and the Scouts Association – no organisation is too big for us to take on. We have managed group actions against local authorities representing in excess of 100 clients, as well as cases of individuals.
We are based in Cambridge, but we endeavour to visit all our clients, no matter where they are in the world. We also conduct weekend or evening visits to accommodate those who work or have other commitments and video-calls are always available when physical meetings may not be possible. We pride ourselves on being a friendly approachable firm with a small dedicated team. You will always be able to speak with the same person in confidence.

'I'd just like to say a big thank you to your team for everything you've done for me so far. It has at times been harrowing, and very painful, but I believe that I may be able to properly deal with some issues now, and finally lay them to rest for good. I know we are not out of the woods yet by any means, and still have some difficult times ahead, but I know with you guys behind me I can 'walk the walk' and move on. To those of you reading this that are going through your own personal battles, be strong, keep the faith, believe in yourself and trust these guys.'
