Underley Hall School

Underley Hall, located in Kirkby Lonsdale, was a day and residential boarding school for children with emotional and behavioural problems.

The owner, Derrick Cooper, was convicted of assault and cruelty offences against residents following a trial at Carlisle CRown Court. These incidents took place in the 1970s and 1980s. Four other staff members were cleared of assault charges.

This firm has received a number of complaints from former residents of the school.
