"I wrote my civil statement for my claim and it was the story of my life. I had kept my story in my head since I was a child and I never felt that I would be able to tell anyone.
It was my deep, dark, secret, hidden away in the back of my mind and sometimes drawing silent tears in the middle of the night.
Most of the time during the day I would not think about it, but then something would happen and "trigger" the sad memories and the pain was as real and the wounds as deep as they were all those years ago when it happened.
How could I tell anyone?
It was such a sad story, who would want to listen to it?
Now I have written it down and I feel better.
